Lucca Allen has his sights set on a successful racing return when MotoAmerica arrives at Virginia International Raceway in a fortnight after undergoing arm pump surgery following the event at The Ridge.
Point scoring in the opening two rounds of the series, the #311 CW Moto Kawasaki rider had been suffering with arm fatigue and after exploring several options to alleviate the problem the decision was made to operate.
Forced to miss the most recent round at Laguna Seca, which he attended to take part in a number of media activities for the team, Lucca is now fully focused on his track return at VIR, which whilst being a new track should see the British teenager able to show his true potential.
Lucca Allen:
“Firstly I want to thank the team. They have been amazing, are so supportive and are like a second family. We discussed it long and hard and decided that having the surgery was the best option, not just for the rest of this year but for my future too. It was frustrating to have to miss Laguna from a riding point of view, but I have a job to do off track too. It was good to be able to represent the team off track and to also fulfil some of my other PR obligations as well as meeting the Californian fans. I am excited to be racing again at Virginia. See you all there!”
