Lucca Allen’s 2026 British Sportbike campaign got underway over the Bank Holiday weekend at Oulton Park in Cheshire, the MPR Racing rider improving throughout the weekend to finish inside the top twenty on his debut in the ultra-competitive series that runs alongside the British Superbike championship.

Easing his way into the first event of the season, Lucca had a small crash on Friday afternoon but recovered well on Saturday to improve his lap time and ensure his place on the grid.

In race one Lucca showed great skill and determination to move through the pack from the eleventh row of the grid after qualifying which is encouraging for the upcoming rounds where the team and the #77 are confident of stronger results.
P20 and P22 in Sunday’s two races enabled both Lucca and the team to gather valuable data that they will analyse ahead of round two which takes place at Donington Park in a fortnight.

Lucca Allen:

“So that’s the first round in the books. From P33 on the grid I knew would have to get my elbows out and that’s exactly what I did. I made seven or eight positions on lap one and we learned a lot. It was a fun race and gave me a lot of confidence that I was able to make passes and get up to pace from lights out. I made a step with my riding in race two which I am happy with and after talking to the team after the race we know where we need to improve. I cannot thank the whole MPR Suzuki team enough for their hard work and belief on me, and I cannot wait to get back on track at Donington in a couple of weeks. Thanks to everyone who is making this season possible, all my sponsors, my parents, my manager and as I have already said, everyone in the team.”
