With the weather throwing a curveball into proceedings during the latest round of the British GP2 Championship at Snetterton last weekend it would have been easy to be reporting a zero-point score but in the case of Lucca Allen that is not the case.

The talented teenager consolidated third overall in the championship with two sensible rides to fourth place on Saturday and Sunday, adding valuable points to his already impressive tally.

Coming into the weekend Lucca was confident, buoyed by what has been a consistent front running season so far. But, with rain falling and track conditions far from ideal, the weekend turned into a bit of a lottery.

Despite a far from perfect set up, the #11 Team FR89 rider used his head to salvage two solid race results when many far more experienced riders slid out of contention.

Lucca is optimistic of being back in podium contention at the next round at Brands Hatch in a fortnight.

Before taking to the track again he will attend the UK round of the FIM Superbike World Championship where he will support the Two Wheels for Life Charity in the Fan Zone on Saturday. He will also make his Paddock Show debut joining Michael Hill for a race commentary and interview on stage during the weekend.

Lucca Allen:

“It was a tough weekend and a slightly disappointing one if I am honest. I usually do well in wet conditions, but we just couldn’t find a setting to give me the feeling I needed. The team worked well but as anyone who’s ever ridden knows if you don’t have everything right then it can be like riding on ice. We could have and should have fought for the podium in both races, but it also could have been a lot worse. We took two fourth place finishes and keep ourselves inside the top three overall in the British championship which is the target when we look at the bigger picture. I am heading to Donington Park this weekend for World Superbikes. I will be supporting Two Wheels for Life and also doing some promotion in the paddock which will be a new experience but one that I am excited for. Thanks to everyone that supports me. Onto the next one!”
